2.Xtool KC501 + X100 PAD3 Read Remote Frequency Guide

Connect Xtool KC501 with X100 PAD Elite (PAD3) to read remote frequency of 3 keys.

Connect KC501 with power supply in 2 methods.

• 1st option: provide power using X100 PAD Elite.
• 2nd option: 5V DC power supply to KC501 via USB port.

When the power is connected, the red light is on.

The other is 12 DC power supply.

Here I will use USB cable to connect with KC501 first.

The left button "FR" is for reading key remote frequency.

The right button "TR" is for reading transponder ID and chip type.

Let's read for VW key remote frequency first.

Place for VW key close to the transponder area.

Press the "FR" button then have the result is 433MHZ.

Next is to read Range Rover key remote frequency.

Place the key close to the transponder area.

Press the "FR" button then have the result is 433MHZ too.

Read for Audi key remote frequency.

Place the key close to the transponder area.

Press the "FR" button then have the result is 315MHZ

Let's go forward to reading the 3 keys' transponder ID and chip type.

Place for Range Rover key to the vehicle key slot.

Press the "TR" button.

Reading finished. Chip type: 49 and transponder ID: 441A7A37

In the same way, we read out for VW transponder ID (D9557968) and chip type 48.

If you connect 12DC power supply to Xtool KC501, it shares as the same as method as the above.

Q:I have a kc501, but it can't read ecu with pc software, Xtool must be having issues?????? 
It's communicating with pc, but it’s limited. For example it cannot read the few ecu models it has. On key programming it only does a few European cars. No Mazda, Toyota, Jeep, Benz, Honda, etc unless you tell me I have to upgrade the software.
A:Hello,dear, It’s normal for Xtool KC501 to be limited when using it to work alone with PC software. There are few software functions are supported, and the language is only English and Chinese.
In fact, KC501 mainly works with XTOOL X100 PAD3 (X100 PAD Elite)/X100 PAD3 SE/A80 H6/A80 Pro (H6 Pro) to do key programming (all keys lost & add new key), and multi-languages are supported.
You’d better use Xtool KC501 key & chip key programmer together with X100 PAD3/A80 tablet series (just mentioned above). If you use KC501 alone, you only can get few functions.
